NATIONAL SOLUTIONS

 

      As a nation, there are many things we could do as a country to stop water pollution, they just need to become a law and be enforced like,

 

Reduce Sewage Pollution

  

 -Upgrade sewage treatment plants. In Maryland, a $3 tax on the citizens sewer system to fast track a sewege system update. 

   -The "Clean Water State Revolving Fund" provides funding in the form of loans to cities who need to get an upgrade for their sewer system.

 

Utilize Clean Mining Practices

  -Some mining practices are so polluted from mining that the aquatic life that used to live in the lake is completely gone.

 

What can you do?

  -Talk to elected government official and see if they can prevent the developement of new mines where they are likely to to be a potential cause of water pollution

  -Do research and try to buy gold jewelry that is not produced by a high-pollution method.

 

 

There are also other little thing we could do to make a big impact because its the little things that count.

 

-America flushes 4.8 billion gallons of water down the toilet everyday. To save water, try taking a half-gallon container and fill it with sand, pebbles, or rocks and then lower it into the chamber of the toilet. 

Every time you flush, you save half a gallon of water.

-Buy water-saving devices like a water saving shower head or toilet.

-Turn off the water while brushing your teeth.
