The Six-Legged Starfish

LOCAL SOLUTIONS
There are so many things that we can do in our own communities to help clean up water pollution in our own rivers. Here are some ideas:
-Set up a booth at a local farmers market: This is a simple solution that can make a huge impact. All it takes is permission from the city, supplies for a booth, and pledge gifts for people who donate money. There are organizations all over working towards cleaning up our rivers, and extra donations would make their efforts more complex.
-A walkathon: To raise a lot of money for water organizations, you can organize a walkathon. Sponsors from different neighborhoods around your community can donate some money for every time you walk/run around a track or some sort of course. A lot of money can be raised through this solution, and it is a good way to get a lot of people involved!
-Flyers: To generally inform the public, hang flyers around your community. This way, many people will see what projects are being done so far and how they can contribute.
